Dionex Applications Demonstrate EPA Method 1664A Using the AutoTrace 280 SPE Instrument in Disk and Cartridge Configurations

April 2010, Sunnyvale, CA-Dionex announces new methods for the extraction of oil and grease from water samples using the Dionex AutoTrace® 280 system in disk and cartridge configurations. Liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) and solid-phase extraction (SPE) are proven techniques that meet the requirements of EPA 1664A. Compared to LLE, SPE is more reliable, less labor-intensive, and uses less solvent. The AutoTrace 280 SPE instrument provides an automated, solid-phase extraction solution that replaces traditional liquid-liquid extraction and meets the requirement of EPA 1664, Revision A. The AutoTrace 280 SPE instrument is available in both disk and cartridge configurations to suit the needs of every laboratory. These methods, released in March 2010, show excellent recovery and precision, and replace tedious and labor-intensive liquidliquid extraction.
