DolomiteMicrofluidics expert Dolomite has been involved in a number of projects integrating electrode features in microfluidic devices combining the advantages of both microfluidics and electrochemistry. Embedded between two glass layers or placed on top of a microfluidic chip, electrodes enable on-chip functionality including electrical impedance spectrometry, electrophoresis, amperometric detection, electrical heating and high voltage microfluidic experimentation.

Dolomite's world leading thermal bonding process, allows the creation of complex and leakfree microfluidic structures with electrodes from as small as 2µm. An additional layer of PECVD oxide or PECVD nitride can be applied to the electrodes for insulation. Available in a wide range of materials, including platinum, copper, titanium and gold, the electrodes can cover up to 50% of the microfluidic chip (when bonded).

For further information on Dolomite's design expertise as well as the complete portfolio of microfluidic products including chips, connectors/ interconnects, pumps, valves and custom devices please visit www.dolomite microfluidics.com.
