As the primary European forum for biotechnology and life science professionals, the BIOTECHNICA offers the perfect platform for the launch of the Eppendorf Award 2011. Researchers up to 35 years of age and working in Europe are eligible to apply for the Eppendorf Award for Young European Investigators 2011 at www.eppendorf.com/award. With their small footprint, extremely silent operation and FastTemp function for quick pre-cooling, the centrifuges 5418 R and 5424 R set new standards for refrigerated microcentrifuges. A further market introduction is the first breakable PCR plate. It can be easily separated into smaller fragments to accommodate experiments of a smaller format. This saves both material and money. The "twin.tec 96 PCR Plates unskirted, separable" may be broken into four 24-well segments. The empty remainder of the plate is thus available for future experiments. The plates are compatible with nearly all common cyclers. With the introduction of the new Protein LoBind Deepwell Plate in Hanover, Eppendorf is expanding the Eppendorf LoBind selection of products by a large-volume 96 well plate format.
