molecular sizing using GPC/SEC For  many applications that include the use of biologically important molecules, such as proteins or polysaccharides, molecular size is an important parameter but its accurate measurement can be challenging.  A new application note from Malvern Instruments describes the use of triple detection gel permeation/ size exclusion  chromatography (GPC/SEC) using the VIscotek TDAmax system for this purpose.  It examines the rationale for triple detection GPC/SEC and looks at the benefits when making key measurements that include radius of gyration (Rg) and hydrodynamic radius (RH).
