Preparative purification systemSlough, UK - Liquid chromatography innovator Dynamic Extractions Ltd offer the Midi High Performance Countercurrent Chromatography (HPCCC) instrument. This instrument is capable of both high resolution chromatography and high sample injection volumes and masses at the laboratory bench. With sample loadings of between 20 - 25 grams/run it is possible to purify 250 grams of crude sample in an 8-hour period. This instrument is ideally suited to the pharmaceutical development environment.

Another important advantage these HPCCC instruments bring to the laboratory is their extremely low solvent usage. HPCCC uses 80-90% less solvent than either preparative HPLC or Flash chromatography would use to purify the same sample mass. Therefore the cost and equipment required for handling and disposing of the solvent is significantly reduced.  Furthermore, post-chromatographic solute recovery processes are much easier and quicker since solute concentrations are much higher when using HPCCC.

Finally, HPCCC is typically run isocratically so all recovered solvent can be recycled thus further reducing solvent consumption and disposal issues.
