Turn your Vacuum Concentrator into a Freeze Dryer

 New accessories available for the miVac range of vacuum concentrator allow it to also be used as a miniature freeze drier, ideal for small laboratory tasks.miVac is a range of vacuum concentrators capable of removing water and organic solvents from a range of samples. One of the most innovative accessories available for this range is the SpeedTrap cold trap which increases the speed of the concentration process by efficiently trapping evaporated solvent. A small bench space, easy emptying and increased condensing power make the SpeedTrap far superior than other cold traps for concentration processes. Adapted for Freeze Drying The SpeedTrap has now been redesigned to allow the miVac to be used as a freeze dryer. A continuous chill mode can be used to freeze dry up to 250ml of water. A freeze drying accessory jar, used in place of the SpeedTrap’s standard jug, allows freeze drying flasks or ampoules to be attached by means of QuickSeal valves. Alternatively vials can be placed directly into the accessory jar using holders provided. The SuperVacuum dry pump is recommended as vacuum pump for freeze drying applications.
